Our Mission
언어, 사회, 문화적 장벽으로 인해 주류 사회에서 소외되기 쉬운 한국계 미국인 장애인과 그 가족에게 소셜 네트워크를 통해 정보를 제공하고 각 연령별 혜택에 대한 소식을 알리며 장애인들이 정부나 기관에서 받을 수 있는 권리와 서비스 확보가 가능하도록 돕고 우리 친구들이 주류 사회의 구성원으로 활동할 수 있도록 도와 주는 것이 우리의 미션입니다.
Our mission is to seek out and assist Korean Americans with disabilities and their families who get disconnected and alienated from the mainstream of society due to language, social and cultural barriers. To accomplish this goal, we are providing them with a social network and helping them to secure benefits and services and guide them to become included as members of mainstream society.

Who We Are
한미장애인협회는 1993년 미국 정부 산하의 비영리 단체로 정식 등록하고 현재 다운증후군, 자폐, 뇌성마비 등 발달 및 지적 장애인과 그 가족들을 위한 모임의 단체로 성장했습니다. 여러 행사들을 통해 서로의 어려운 형편을 나누고 위로하며 필요한 정보들을 교환할 뿐 아니라 장애인 자녀들이 사회에 적응하도록 돕고 있습니다.
In 1993, it was officially registered as a non-profit organization with the U.S. Government for the individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities. Our current members include the families of children with Down syndrome, Autism, Cerebral palsy, and other disabilities. Through various events, we not only share and comfort each other’s situations and exchange necessary information, but also promote the children to learn social adjustments.
연례 행사
Our Annual Events
저희 연례 행사로 5월의 온 가족 야유회, 8월의 에버그린 캠프, 그리고 12월의 크리스마스 파티가 있습니다. 비회원도 이 때 함께 할 수 있으며 풍성한 음식과 게임, 상품 등이 우리 친구들을 신나고 행복하게 해줍니다. 함께 한 모두가 서로를 격려하고 보듬어주는 시간이 됩니다.
We have large gatherings such as Family Picnic in May, Camp Evergreen in August, and Christmas Party in December annual basis. These are the times non-members are also invited and food, games, and prizes make our children very excited. We all learn to support and encourage and share more through these events.
한미장애인학교 프로그램
KADPA School Program
우리는 토요일에 한국어 학교와 현장학습으로 모입니다. 우리 친구들에게 한글, 미술/만들기, 음악, 율동, 북/장구, 체조, 태권도 등을 통해 한국의 정서와 문화를 배우게 합니다. 재외동포재단의 기금이 크게 도움을 주고 있습니다.
We gather on Saturdays for Korean School and field trips alternately. Our children are learning Korean culture through Hangul (Korean language), arts/craft, Korean folk songs, drum/double headed drum and Taekwondo, etc. and experiencing various sites and events. Funds from the Overseas Koreans Foundation help greatly.

My beloved giant Teddy Bear, I wish I could become the person like you who knows what true heart is and what real manner is... I will try my best to amble and laugh a lot and love unconditionally like you! I have always wanted to get you something, but I have ended up getting much more from you... Love you my cousin with all my heart!!”
