34번째 에버그린 캠프, “에버그린 무도회” 34th Camp Evergreen, “Evergreen Ball”

우리 카드파 가족들이 가장 손꼽아 기다리는 에버그린 캠프가 지난 8월 1일부터 8월 3일 까지 열렸습니다.

올해로 34번째를 맞는 이번 에버그린 캠프의 주제는 “에버그린 무도회 (Evergreen Ball)”로, 버지니아 카드파와 메릴랜드에 위치한 카드파의 가족들, 그리고 와싱톤중앙장로교회 (KCPC) 좋은 이웃부가 에버그린 캠프에서 만나 2박 3일동안 즐거운 시간을 보내며 이번에도 우리는 “가족”임을 다시 한번 느끼는 시간을 가졌습니다.

2박 3일동안 수고하신 봉사자들과 참가 가족들을 위해 메릴랜드와 버지니아 카드파 어머님들이 맛있는 음식을 매 번 준비해주시고, 아버님들은 뜨거운 날씨에도 열심히 고기를 구워주신 덕분에 캠프 내내 맛있는 식사를 할 수 있었습니다. 올해도 수영, 다양한 만들기, 장기자랑, 댄스파티, 캠프파이어, 보물찾기, 그리고 전통 한국 문화를 익히기 위한 여러가지 전통놀이 체험 활동도 즐거웠습니다. 특별히 무도회 주제에 맞춘 멋진 복장의 우리 친구들 모습도 아름답고 핸섬했으며 리무진 라이드로 분위기는 최고였습니다!

올해도 와싱톤중앙장로교회, 와싱톤한인교회, 재외동포청의 감사한 후원 덕분에 풍성한 에버그린캠프가 되었습니다. 

The Evergreen Camp, which our KADPA families look forward to the most, was held for the 34th time.

The theme of this year was “Evergreen Ball.” Since the first Camp in 1993, KADPA families from Virginia and Maryland, and the Good Neighbors of KCPC have met at Hashawha Environmental Center in Westminster, MD every year and had a great time for 2 nights and 3 days. It’s a time to feel once again we are “family!”

Thanks to the Maryland and Virginia KADPA mothers who prepared delicious main and side dishes for the volunteers and camp participating families and the fathers who grilled meat in the hot weather, we were able to eat delicious meals throughout the camp. This year, we spent time together doing various activities such as swimming, crafts, talent shows, dance parties, campfires, and treasure hunts on top of the Korean culture experience event.

Evergreen Camp was highlighted with our dressed-up members and limo rides, thanks to the support of KCPC, Korean United Methodist Church of Greater Washington, and the Overseas Koreans Agency. Look forward to the next Camp on July 31-August 2, 2026!!
